Child SAFETY

Platinum Support Foundation is committed to embedding child safe organisational practice consistent with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, Child Safe Standards, and the Commonwealth Child Safe Framework. A child safe organisation is one that creates a culture, adopts strategies, and takes action to promote child wellbeing and prevent harm to children and young people.

• We are committed to the safety, participation, and empowerment of all children. 
• We have zero tolerance for child abuse, and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated very seriously and consistently with our robust policies and procedures. 
• We have legal and moral obligations to contact authorities when we are concerned about a child’s safety, which we follow rigorously.  
• We are committed to child safety.
• We are committed to preventing child abuse and identifying risks early and removing and reducing these risks.  
• We have robust human resources and recruitment practices to reduce the risk of child abuse by new and existing Board members, staff, and volunteers. 
• We are committed to training and educating our Board members, staff, and volunteers on child abuse risks.  
• We are committed to the cultural safety of First Nations children and the cultural safety of children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds. 
• We are committed to providing a safe environment for children with a disability. 
• We have specific policies and procedures in place that support our staff, and volunteers to achieve these commitments.
